Emigration Clearance Certificate

Due to the emergence of new abroad opportunities, Indians started to migrate abroad. But according to the current immigration system, Indians need to do some mandatory checking before flying abroad. This rule will validate from January 1 2019, onwards. Indian government made this rule to make international travel easy without any other legal consequences. According to the new immigration rules proposed by the Indian government, every Indian passport holder should do online registration while going for any international travel. Ministry of External Affairs introduced this new online registration Emigrate registration rule in an advisory. As per the registration rule of Ministry of External Affairs, Emigration Clearance Certificate is not required for all Indians while they are travelling to work in 18 countries including UAE on employment visas. Every Indians holding Non-Emigration Check Required (Non-ECR or ECNR) passport hereby note that pursuance to ‘Ministry of External Affairs’ mandate to protect and welfare of the Indians emigrants abroad.

The central aim of this emigrate rules designed by the Ministry of External Affairs is to provide protection and security to Indian emigrants aboard. From 1 January 2019 onwards, online registration is a significant process for every ‘overseas employment’. This new provision will become mandatory in all these above-mentioned 18 ECR notified countries. By registering on emigrate application system emigrate Indians can get work in abroad countries without other legal consequences. Emigrate application system is simple and easy and applicants should visit the website and go with the required details of application system. To get ECNR registration the applicant should follow all the steps given by the ministry to fill the application form. After the successful completion of their ECNR application emigrate would receive a confirmatory mail/SMS.

That’s why our Ministry of External Affairs designed this new registration program to ensure the security and protection of Indian emigrants in UAE. This registration method will effectively valid in UAE on January. In the current immigration system, every Indians should be aware about the new visa rules proposed by the Ministry of External Affairs. The mandatory registration is applicable to Indians holding Non-Emigration Check required (Non-ECR or ECNR) passport irrespective of their educational and employment background. ECR is an acronym of Emigrants Check Required. According to the emigration Act of 1983, Emigration Check Required (ECR) is mandatory for Indian passport holders and should obtain “Emigration Clearance” from the Protector of Emigrants (POE) office of Ministry of External Affairs for going into above mentioned ECR countries. Anyway the Ministry of External Affairs (Emigration Policy Division) have permitted ECR passport holders shifting abroad for purposes other than employment purposes. Online registration process effective on 1 January 2019 and execution of this rule will bring new changes in the international travels of Indians. The aim is to provide protection to Indian emigrants abroad. All Indians expatriates working in 18 ECR notified countries should register online before their departure. If any Indian worker failed to complete his/her online registration will definitely face complications in the departure process and he/she will prohibit from boarding flight to UAE (United Arab Emirates) and other 17 other countries, this rule will be functioned from coming January 1.

Some of the main points should be noted before going for this online registration.

  • Emigrate registration has to be completed on the official government portal between 21days and 24 hours before the date or time of travel or departure.
  • Applicants must give all required personal details about India and the destination country details, such as visa details, travel details, emergency contact address and phone number, details about the sponsor in the destination country.
  • A confirmatory email/ SMS will receive after the successful completion of your registration.
  • The re-register process is only requiring, if the applicant come India again after any change in their work visa.

Every Indians should get aware about this new emigration rule while planning for any international travel. This above noted points will assist you in easily understand about this emigrate application system. If one who unable to do this registration will not allowed to board their flights to these countries. Now, registration is applicable for Indians who are already working in these countries and if they arrive in their home country should register before their next departure to that country. It is not necessary to register every time one goes back home country unless there is a change in visa. This was clarified by the recent advisory of the Ministry of External Affairs. After the three years of abroad working any Emigration Clearance Certificate Emigration Clearance Required (ECR) passport holders need to change their passport status to ECNR have to strictly complete this ENCR registration from their home country. Those already working on employment visas in these countries will have to register when they visit India and fly back again.
